WE’VE CHOSEN THREE PROJECTS TO START DOING OUR PART
WITH DIRECT FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS. |

|
Saving our environment is essential to our very existence. That is why The Port Inn became a member of 1% For The Planet, a global movement of businesses that donate 1% of their annual sales to a network of more than 1,600 environmental organizations around the globe.

Teaming Up With Blue Ocean
blueoceansociety.org / islesofshoals.com
The Blue Ocean Society has a brand new Touch Tank, donated by The Port Inn. The touch tank is located on the docks of the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company in downtown Portsmouth. Children can visit the tank, learn about sea creatures and, best of all, touch them! Visiting the tank makes a great family outing.

Restoring Hodgson Brook
hodgsonbrook.org
Local land use and urbanization have degraded Hodgson Brook,
leaving it in dire need of restoration. This small freshwater stream flows through the heart of Portsmouth and empties into the Piscataqua River via North Mill Pond, ultimately entering the ocean. The Hodgson Brook Restoration Project receives direct donations from The Port Inn for wetland restoration. |
Erasing Our Carbon Footprint
nativeenergy.com
By donating to NativeEnergy, The Port Inn supports community-
based, renewable energy projects and secures “carbon credits.”
This is a way of counterbalancing the energy we use and the CO2
pollution we cause. In essence, we are erasing our “carbon foot-
prints.” The Port Inn’s donation to NativeEnergy is earmarked to help build a farmer-owned windmill.

| The Port Inn encourages all businesses to help preserve our environment. We hope you will join us by supporting local conservation efforts and erasing your carbon footprint. If we all do our part, our earth will remain healthy for a long time to come. |
